November 4, 2017, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Everhart Park
Chester County remains committed to tackling the opioid and heroin epidemic through intensive health, education, treatment, and law enforcement measures, coordinated by our Overdose Prevention Task Force. Last November, we held our first Color 5K run and walk to help reduce the stigma of addiction, raise awareness, and help mitigate the opioid and heroin epidemic here in Chester County. The event attracted more than 800 participants and supporters, including many whose lives have been turned upside down by the scourge of addiction. We raised $25,000 and the funds were distributed to Chester County’s hospitals to help coordinate a “warm hand-off” to transition those who have been saved from an overdose into treatment and counseling.
We are now planning our second Color 5K on Saturday, November 4, 2017. In addition to being a fun family walk/run, this year's 5K will be electronically timed for more serious runners. We invite you to support this important event!
